This report is the ninth in a series of annual publications (see below), previously published under the title Community Aged Care Packages in Australia, prepared by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, under an agreement with the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. These statistics are compiled from the Aged and Community Care Management Information System (ACCMIS), the administrative data base which records services funded by Australian Government under the Aged Care Act. 

These reports highlight the patterns of service provision and characteristics of recipients of Australian Government funded aged care packages.

Detailed statistics on the socio-demographic characteristics of care package recipients and the patterns of the recipients' admissions and separations are also provided. The data reported provides a summary of:

The data presented in this report are a useful resource for those involved in policy development, policy review and the planning of aged care services with a specific interest in aged care packages provided in the community.
