National Child Protection and Support Services (NCPASS) data group

Description:
The National Child Protection and Support Services (NCPASS) data group was established by the National Community Services Information Management Group (NCSIMG) at its meeting in September 1997. The group is responsible for overseeing the national child protection data collection and undertaking data development work in this area.
The aims of the group are to:
- Produce accurate and timely data relating to child protection services in Australia
- Develop performance indicators and information policy
- Provide advice and input to the Steering Committee for the Report on Government Services on performance indicators and related counting rules for the Protection and Support Services chapter
- Report to the NCSIMG about developments in child protection data
- Assess issues affecting the comparability of data with an initial focus on child protection and propose ways of addressing these issues to the NCSIMG
- Assess the implications of major business drivers for State data systems
- Provide a forum for developing State and Territory, and Commonwealth positions on data development issues.
