| The SAAP client collection holds details of SAAP supported clients. Data are collected by service providers during, and immediately following, contact with clients and are then forwarded to the NDCA after clients' support periods have ended, and at the end of the reporting period (30 June) for ongoing clients.
Data collected include basic sociodemographic information and the services required by and provided to each client. The collection enables an examination of client outcomes by eliciting information about each client's situation before and after receiving SAAP services. The SAAP client collection began on 1 July 1996. A SAAP client is defined as a person aged 18 years or older, or a person of any age not accompanied by a parent or guardian, who: " receives support or assistance from a SAAP agency which entails generally 1 hour or more of a workers time, either with that client directly or on behalf of that client, on a given day; or " is accommodated by a SAAP agency; or " enters into an ongoing support relationship with a SAAP agency. | |
