Two interactive sets of workbooks containing cause-specific Australian mortality information, indexed by year, sex and five-year age groups.
The National GRIM Books are indexed by year of registration, and data are available from 1907 (some causes) to 2006.
The State & Territory GRIM Books are indexed by year of death, and data are available from 1968 (most causes) to 2006.
Each workbook contains the latest mortality data (currently 2002), population data, derived data items (e.g. age-specific and age-standardised rates), summary measures (e.g. per cent of all causes of death, mean age at death, potential years of life lost, lifetime risk of dying), birth cohort information and graphs. The workbooks are fully interactive, enabling users to set limits by age groups and years, and select population standards. Users can also generate, copy and print summary tables for summary measures, average annual rates of change, aggregated age-specific rates, risk of dying and potential years of life lost.
