Classification APS Level 4
Position no. Various positions

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare consists of seven groups - Economics and Health Services Group, Health Group, Information and Statistics Group, Social and Indigenous Group, Housing and Disability Group, Governance and Communication Group and Business Group. These groups are responsible for the preparation of numerous reports to the nation on the state of its health, housing and community services, and for the provision of business, secretariat and information support services.

Graduate Recruitment

The Institute has been recruiting graduates for the past ten years and provides them with ongoing training as part of their job, rather than through a structured program involving systematic rotation. Graduate recruits are immediately placed in jobs matching their particular skills and areas of knowledge and expertise, and are trained by the supervisors in all the duties required by the job. Short generic training programs (eg for particular ICT skills) are provided. By learning on-the-job, the graduates broaden their skills and knowledge in their particular area of expertise, and also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in administrative and technical work.
