'Best Company to Work for in 2008'
AIHW is proud to have been recognised by Great Place to Work™ Australia as a 'Best Company to Work For in 2008'. We intend to remain a great workplace by providing fulfilling work in a trusting environment.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare is an independent Commonwealth statutory authority. We inform community discussion and decision making through national leadership in the development and provision of authoritative and timely information and analysis on the health and welfare of Australians.
Growing demand for our services means that from time to time we have non- ongoing employment opportunities for talented people. We are currently seeking to update our register of individuals interested in short -term employment. Vacancies will typically be for periods of 3 months although shorter or longer term opportunities may also arise.
We are interested in hearing from people with skills in the following areas:
- research and statistical analysis of health, housing or welfare data;
- preparation of advice or reports on health, housing or welfare issues;
- use and application of current information technology systems and packages;
- data management and metadata development;
- publication and desktop applications;
- human resource management;
- finance and personnel processing and/or
- general administration.
Interested parties should send the Institute details of their qualifications and experience, together with at least two recent written referee reports and a copy of the temporary employment register application form (212K DOC). Applications should indicate the circumstances under which the applicant may be available for employment. Applications for part-time work are encouraged. Registration will be current for a period of six months; opportunities for inclusion in future registers will be separately advertised.
Individuals already registered with AIHW, must re-register to be considered for future positions.
Employment may be full time or part time. Pay and conditions will be in accordance with the Institute's Certified Agreement. The actual level of engagement will depend on the duties to be performed.
