Prue Power was appointed as the Executive
Director of the Australian Healthcare Association (AHA) last July (2003). For
the seven years prior to accepting this position, she was the Australian Medical
Association's Director of General Practice and e-Health. Prue is not a stranger
to the AHA having worked there previously in the role of Deputy Director. She is
also a former Adviser to the Commonwealth Minister for Health, and Secretary of
the Australian Nurses Federation ACT Branch.
Prue has a Master of Population Health from the Australian National University and a Professional Certificate in Arbitration from Adelaide University. She is also a qualified mediator and has a corporate directors' diploma. Prue has served on several Boards of Directors, including five years on the ACT Health Community Service Board.
Prue participates in four professional organisations. She is an Honorary Member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a Member of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators, a Senior Fellow of the Corporate Directors' Association and a Life Member of the Australian Nursing Federation.
