Australian hospital statistics cover Conceptualisation of social and emotional wellbeing for children and young people, and policy implications
In collaboration with the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY), the AIHW contracted the University of New South Wales' Social Policy research Centre (SPRC) to produce a paper conceptualising social and emotional wellbeing, and drawing out possible policy implications.
Australian hospital statistics cover Australian hospital statistics 2008–09
A detailed overview of Australia's 1,317 public and private hospitals. In 2008-09, there were 8.1 million separations from Australia's hospitals including: 4.5 million same-day acute separations; 3.3 million overnight acute separations; almost 300,000 non-acute separations. There were 7.2 million presentations to public hospital emergency departments, with 70% of patients seen within the recommended times for their triage categories. (18 June 2010)
Australian Cancer Incidence and Mortality (ACIM) books updated
The ACIM books have been updated to include 2006 incidence data and 2007 mortality data. The data cubes and Excel files will be updated with 2006 incidence data in the near future. (28 May 2010)
National Drug Strategy Household Survey 2010 – information for participants
The 2010 National Drug Strategy Household Survey is a national survey of around 25,000 Australians aged 12 years or older. The survey collects information about people's attitudes and beliefs about tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.
Closing the Gap Clearinghouse
The Clearinghouse provides access to a collection of quality information on what works to overcome Indigenous disadvantage. This provides policy makers and program managers with an evidence base for achieving the Closing the Gap targets and related Indigenous reforms. Indigenous Australians will benefit through the delivery of policies and services which address Indigenous disadvantage more effectively.
