General Record of Incidence of Mortality: Interactive Excel workbooks for...
The National GRIM books are interactive Excel books containing national mortality data, indexed by year of registration, age and sex, for specific causes of death or combinations of causes of death (according to ICD- 10). They have been set up to enable mortality data to be analysed over the period 1900-2010. However, data for all years and every cause of death may not always be available and thus, the starting year for each cause of death varies. Most of the National GRIM books start in 1907 and all include the latest year of mortality data available.
The following workbooks covering the major disease groups are provided, and showcase the information available in the National GRIM Books:
NOTE: Please be aware that the GRIM Books contain Macros, and need to be enabled when opened.

- All certain infectious and parasitic diseases
- All neoplasms
- Lung cancer
- All diseases of the blood and blood-forming organs
- All endocrine, nutritional and metabolic diseases
- All mental and behavioural disorders
- All diseases of the nervous system
- All diseases of the eye and adnexa
- All diseases of the ear and mastoid process
- All diseases of the circulatory system
- All diseases of the respiratory system
- All diseases of the digestive system
- All diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue
