Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network 1996-1997, the third report in the Australian Institute of Health and Wealfare's National Perinatal Statistics Unit's Neonatal Network Series, details an audit of the sickest babies in neonatal intensive care.

Assisted conception Australia and New Zealand 1997

Provides information on all pregnancies and infants resulting from the use of assisted conception techniques, such as in-vitro fertilisations (IVF) and gamate intrafallopian transfer (GIFT). Specifically, the report presents data on pregnancy rates, causes of infertility, maternal and paternal ages, number of embryos/eggs transferred, frozen embryos, donor eggs/embryos, microinsemination, pregnancy outcomes, multiple births and infant outcomes. The data are collected from all IVF units in Australia and New Zealand.

Indigenous mothers and their babies, Australia 1994-1996

Provides information on Indigenous mothers and their babies from perinatal data collections for each State and Territory of Australia. For the first time this report presents information on Indigenous mothers and their babies by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission region for the years 1991 to 1996. It also examines demographic and pregnancy factors of Indigenous mothers and the characteristics and outcomes of their babies.

Congenital malformations Australia 1995-1996

Provides information on infants with major congenital malformations in Australia, diagnosed prenatally or within the first 28 days of birth. The data are collected from birth defect registers or perinatal data collections in each State and Territory. The report contains data on the incidence of major congenital malformations, including 25 selected birth defects, in more detail. Congenital Malformations Australia 1995 and 1996 was produced by the AIHW National Perinatal Statistics Unit based at the University of New South Wales.

Provides information on births in Australia from perinatal data collections for each State and Territory. The report examines demographic and pregnancy factors of mothers and the characteristics and outcomes of their infants. This report will be particularly useful to consumers of perinatal health care services, perinatal health service planners and those providing services or conducting research in reproductive and perinatal health. This report was produced by the AIHW and National Perinatal Statistics Unit based at the University of New South Wales.
