The National Maternity Data Development Project Advisory Group was established to assist in the development of a nationally consistent and comprehensive maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity data collection in Australia.
The main role of the Advisory Group is to provide expert:
- Advice and guidance on current and emerging perinatal and maternal mortality and morbidity issues of relevance to the project.
- Advice on perinatal and maternal mortality and morbidity data collections and data collection practices, and assist in identifying information gaps, overlaps, and priority areas for national maternal and perinatal data collection.

- Ms Sue Cornes – Chair of the National Perinatal Data Development Committee (NPDDC)
- Professor Elizabeth Sullivan – National Perinatal Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU)
- Representatives from DoHA and AIHW
Meeting details
The Advisory Group meets three to four times a year.
