The Metadata Information Services Information Environment Unit monitors changes in the national information environment for health, welfare, housing, disability and community services, liaises within the Institute to disseminate information and coordinate Institute responses and thereby helps shape the emerging information environment to underpin improvements in the statistical use of data. The unit also supports the Director AIHW as Head of the Australian Collaborating Centre, provides advice on best practice for information management and leads the Institute's engagement with cross-cutting e-health initiatives.
