The Children, Youth and Families Unit aims to monitor the health and wellbeing of Australia's children and young people by developing, analysing, and disseminating the latest-available information on the health and wellbeing of Australia's children, young people and families. The Unit undertakes work on the development and statistical reporting of key indicators of child and youth health, development and wellbeing, including the Ministerially endorsed Headline Indicators for children's health, development and wellbeing. The indicator-based reports cover a broad range of areas including health and health risk factors, early learning and development, education and employment, family and community environments, and safety and security. The Unit is also responsible for producing the children and youth relevant chapters and sections in Australia's Welfare and Australia's Health.
