Juvenile justice
The Juvenile Justice National Minimum Data Set
(JJ NMDS) is the national collection of
information on young people under community-based supervision and in detention. It contains flow data from 2000-01 for all states and territories
in Australia (except the ACT - data are available from 2003-04).
Juvenile justice in Australia 2007-08 now available.
Juvenile justice in Australia 2008-09 available mid 2010.

Characteristics of young people under juvenile supervision
- age
- sex
- Indigenous status
- Age at first supervision
Patterns of supervision
- type (unsentenced, sentence)
- length
- location (community, detention)
Information on supervised orders such as supervised bail, remand, probation and sentenced detention is collected.
Information on unsupervised court orders such as unsupervised bail is not collected.
