Provides information on infants with major congenital malformations in Australia, diagnosed prenatally or within the first 28 days of birth. The data are collected from birth defect registers or perinatal data collections in each State and Territory. The report contains data on the incidence of major congenital malformations, including 25 selected birth defects, in more detail. Congenital Malformations Australia 1995 and 1996 was produced by the AIHW National Perinatal Statistics Unit based at the University of New South Wales.
