Presents optometrist labour force statistics from 1986 to 1999 and optometry service utilisation statistics during the 1990s. Projections of current trends are included. Workforce numbers profile the age, sex, hours worked, country of birth and geographic region of practising optometrists. Information on the utilisation of optometry services includes data on the age, sex and geographic region of optometry patients. The report also includes data on the number of students enrolled in and completing optometry courses, and on the migration of optometrists to and from Australia.
