Injury cases admitted to hospitals in Australia are coded according to the Australian clinical modification of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10-AM). The third edition of ICD-10-AM, published early in 2002, includes substantial changes to the chapter covering External Causes of Injury and Poisoning. This document describes the changes.
