Children accompanying homeless clients 2002-03: a report from the SAAP National Data Collection
This report provides an overview and analysis of accompanying children in SAAP in 2002-03, including their demographic characteristics, patterns of SAAP use and the reasons why their parents or guardians sought SAAP support. There is also information about the services children receive from SAAP agencies, and their living arrangements before and after support. Domestic violence is a major theme of the report, as the majority of children accompany their mother or other female guardian who has reported domestic violence as a reason for seeking SAAP assistance.
