The AIHW is a major driving force in Australia for national information and statistics on health, housing and community services. The AIHW's outcome, as stated in the 2009-10 Portfolio Budget Statements for the Health and Ageing portfolio, is 'A robust evidence-base for the health, housing and community services sectors, including through developing and disseminating comparable health and welfare information and statistics'.
