National health labour force series no. 33This is the first AIHW report that presents statistics on the size and growth of registered psychologists in Australia. The report is based on the 2002-2003 AIHW surveys of psychologists in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. Information presented in the report includes an overview of the number of psychologists, their demographic and work characteristics and supply; their main clients; and trends in the number of students completing undergraduate psychology courses. Registration numbers are used to show recent growth in the profession. The report then provides a profile of employed psychologists in each surveyed state and territory. Authored by AIHW.
