Waiting Times for Elective Surgery in Australia 1999-00 provides waiting times statistics for patients admitted for elective surgery in public hospitals by State and Territory and hospital peer group.         The table lists the public hospitals included in the National Hospital Morbidity Database and flags hospitals reporting to the National Elective Surgery Waiting Times Collection. Information on the peer group of the hospitals is provided, based on the hospital peer group classification developed by the Institute for cost per casemix adjusted separation analysis and on the hospital peer groups classification adapted from this for use in this report. Information about the average available bed numbers and the Statistical local Area and Rural, Remote, Metropolitan Area of the hospitals is also included.
