The below health workforce data cubes contain time series data detailed information from the AIHW Health Labour Force Surveys up until 2009. More recent information on the health workforce is available online. Data tables are also available.
What is a data cube?
A data cube is a multidimensional representation of data which provides fast retrieval and drill down facilities. A brief reference on using the data cubes should be downloaded here.

Data source
The source of data for the health labour force data cubes is the AIHW Health Labour Force Surveys. These surveys collected information on the demographic and employment characteristics of practitioners who were registered in Australia at the time of the survey. It was conducted annually by state and territory health authorities, with the questionnaire administered by the registration boards (or councils) in each jurisdiction, in conjunction with the registration renewal process.
