The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (the AIHW) is an independent corporate Commonwealth entity that works to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians through better health and welfare information and statistics.

The Housing and Specialised Services Group (HSSG) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual for the position of Senior Customer Service Manager/Senior Project Officer in the Housing and Homelessness Collection Operations Unit (HHCO).

The HHCO unit manages the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) data collection. HHCO runs the operations of the data collection and supports over 1,500 agencies. The responsibilities of the unit also include the delivery of training for the SHS collection as well as the client management system called the Specialist Homelessness Information Platforms (SHIP).

The hotline (customer information telephone line) provides information to agency workers and jurisdictional stakeholders, advising them how to collect the data accurately, enter it into a client management system, and submit it to the AIHW. The training team delivers training nationally to SHS agencies as well as developing training resources.

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage the customer support team (Agency hotline for homelessness service workers) and embrace team work
  • Respond to and liaise with external stakeholders and other areas of AIHW
  • Contribute to committee administration (organising meetings, taking minutes) including preparation of agenda papers
  • Learn and build expertise in the client management system used in homelessness service agencies as well as in-house data systems
  • Upload data files to in-house systems and resolve data errors.
  • Involvement in any ad-hoc tasks or projects such as compiling call number metrics.

Additional information

This position will be filled on a non-ongoing or contractual basis (full-time) and will be engaged through a labour hire firm.
