This report uses data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ 2012 Survey of Disability, Ageing and Carers to examine the level of access to a range of health services by Australians with disability living in the community.
People with disability living in Outer regional and Remote areas faced more barriers to accessing health services
20% of people with disability who needed to see a medical specialist did not go mainly because of the cost
17% of people with disability who needed to see a GP delayed or did not go because of the cost
67% of people with disability who needed to see a dentist delayed seeing or did not go because of the cost
