Age left school

Of working-age (aged 15–64) people who acquired disability before age 15, almost 1 in 5 (19%) have left school before age 16, compared with just over 1 in 10 (11%) without disability (Figure 1).

Age groups who have left school more recently are less likely to have left school before age 16, consistent with improvements in school retention for people with disability over time. Around 1 in 10 (10%) people aged 15–24 who acquired disability before age 15 left school before age 16, compared with 4% of those without disability.
