Data on the costs of acute admitted patients can be found for hospitals, by:

  1. Navigating to https://www.myhospitals.gov.au and entering the name of the hospital into the search field.
  2. Clicking Financial Performance in the left-hand menu, and then Average cost of care in public hospitals.

Data are also available as an Excel download.

The MyHospitals website allows you to view the performance of more than 1,000 public and private hospitals against indicators such as waiting times in emergency departments or for some types of surgery, rates of bloodstream infections acquired in hospital, the length of time patients spend in hospital after being admitted for various conditions or procedures, and other indicators.
