In 2025, around 2,300 people were estimated to die from skin cancer in Australia. But not everyone faces the same risk. The AIHW looked at linked data and found higher death rates among males, people born in Oceania and Antarctica, with disability, and in low socioeconomic areas. These insights will help shape the Roadmap for a National Targeted Skin Cancer Screening Program, funded by the Australian Government.
