In May 2019, the World Health Assembly adopted ICD-11 for implementation by Member States from 1 January 2022. The AIHW undertook a national consultation regarding ICD-11 and its potential implementation, with a wide range of stakeholders in early 2019 which revealed a body a work that could be undertaken to inform decisions on whether, when and how to implement ICD-11 in Australia.
