This report describes the elapsed time between a person’s approval for selected aged care services (a home care package, permanent residential aged care, or both) and receipt of the service at the approved level. The cohort of interest is everyone who had their first comprehensive aged care eligibility assessment in the 2019–20 financial year with follow up to 30 June 2022. This report also investigates the demographic and clinical factors associated with elapsed time.
