The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) presents information from a wide range of data sources relating to alcohol and other drugs, including the Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services National Minimum Data Set (AODTS NMDS), the National Drug Strategy Household Survey (NDSHS) and other sources that contain information relating to a person’s alcohol and/or drug use. These data provide important insights into alcohol and drug use in Australia and the treatment and support available. They can be linked to other national health and welfare data to examine service use, health outcomes and demographics for specific cohorts. The report will be updated regularly as new research becomes available that makes use of linked data assets containing information on alcohol and other drug use in Australia.
