National Diabetes Register, Statistical Profile 2000 is the first statistical report of the National Diabetes Register and marks the availability of the register for research purposes. The report describes the characteristics of the people on the National Diabetes Register at the end of 2000, including age at diagnosis, sex, State/Territory, region within State/Territory, country of birth, Indigenous status and diabetes type. It also provides estimates on the incidence of diabetes among children, and on death rates for people who use insulin to treat their diabetes.
