In 2017–18, about 280,000 people used disability support services funded under the National Disability Agreement (NDA). During the year, about 40,000 (14%) NDA service users transitioned to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), almost two-thirds (67%) of whom had an intellectual or learning disability.

  • Most (95%) of NDA service users were aged under 65, with an average age of 37

  • In 2017–18, about 280,000 people used services under the National Disability Agreement (NDA)

  • About 1 in 7 (14%) of NDA service users transitioned to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) during the year

  • Almost three-quarters (71%) of NDA service users aged 15 and over who were in the labour force were unemployed
