Coronary Angioplasty in Australia 1999 provides details of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) as performed in Australia in 1999. It is the only national compilation of information on procedures performed in 1999 and is based on data supplied directly by cardiology units. The report provides information on patterns and trends in the use of the technique, its indications, compilations and success rates, and monitors the uptake of stenting, atherectomy and laser angioplasty. The report is part of the Cardiovascular Disease Series, which covers mortality, risk factors, morbidity and medical procedures. It is a valuable resource for health planners, practitioners and researchers interested in cardiovascular conditions and their treatment.
Tables 5 and 9, on pages 13 and 19 respectively, have been edited to include ACT data which was not available at the time of publication (Addendum 99K PDF)
