This report summarises data from two hospital data collections held by the AIHW. Key statistics are presented on the resources, expenditure and revenue of public hospitals and on the services they provide.
31 Jan 2018 - Tables 4.5 and 9.3 from the National Hospital Morbidity Database have been corrected to reflect updated data for Indigenous sta tus for some separations for Queensland private hospitals and the removal from the National Hospital Morbidity Database of 461 separations for New South Wales that were previously reported as for palliative care. The removal of the New South Wales records has reduced the total number of separations reported for 1995-96 for both public and private hospitals for both New South Wales and Australia.
