Hospital resources 2013–14: Australian hospital statistics presents a detailed overview of public and private hospital resources in Australia. In 2013–14, there were: - 747 public hospitals: with over 58,600 beds that accounted for more than $44 billion of expenditure; - 612 private hospitals with almost 31,000 beds that accounted for more than $11 billion of expenditure.
