In 2017–18, 2,670 people were hospitalised due to a watercraft-related injury. Males were twice as likely to be hospitalised for watercraft-related injuries compared with females.
Surfing, boogie boarding and water skiing were the activities most often involved in these hospitalisations. 81 people were working for income at the time of injury.
