Findings from this report:

12% of women were smoking during pregnancy in 2013, a decrease from 15% in 2009
Almost 305,000 women gave birth to over 309,000 babies in 2013, with 97% of mothers delivering in hospitals
Around 1 in 5 women who smoked quit in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy
Over half of mothers aged 35 years and older gave birth by caesarean section, 3 times as high as teenage mothers (18%)
