Sources and areas
‘Sources and Areas’ tab displays health spending in Australia from 1985–86 to 2023–24, presented in both constant and current prices. It breaks down spending by source of funds and areas of expenditure. The tab also shows the proportion of total health spending attributed to each source of funds and expenditure area for Australia as a whole.
‘Sunburst_area_source’ graph illustrates areas of expenditure and source of funds in Australia from 1996-97 to 2023–24, using constants prices. The chart has four concentric layers: the centre layer displays total expenditure by area or year; the second layer shows broad expenditure categories; the third layer breaks these down into detailed expenditure areas; and the outermost layer represents sources of funds. Users can filter the data by year, by Australia as a whole, or by individual states and territories.
