This report presents information on oral health outreach services provided to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people aged under 16 in the Northern Territory. There were some improvements over time in the proportion of First Nations children in the NTRAI OHP with tooth decay.

Findings from this report:
  • In 2022, 54% of children in the NTRAI OHP who had a clinical service visit were aged 6-11 and 29% were aged 12-15

  • Children aged 7-11 in the NTRAI OHP had the highest proportions of tooth decay experience in 2022, between 81% to 87%

  • In 2022, 1,236 First Nations children had fissure sealants applied to 5,498 teeth through the NTRAI OHP

  • In 2022, most children in the NTRAI OHP received services in Very remote areas (59%) and in Remote areas (28%)
