Data and data items
The CWDA is delivered via the National Health Data Hub (NHDH) and access to the CWDA is through AIHW-managed secure environments. The CWDA provides access to integrated data from child and young people-focused data collections outlined in Table 1.
In addition, CWDA projects can request access to other data collections available through the NHDH. This will include access to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and the National Community Mental Health Care Database. The NHDH web pages provide detailed information on all available data collections available through the NHDH.
Data collection | Temporal coverage |
|---|---|
| Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) | Every three years since 2009 to 2021 |
1 July 2017 to 30 June 2024 | |
| 1 July 2000 to 30 June 2024 |
Further detail on data items available will be provided once the CWDA is open for general applications in 2026.
AIHW are continuing to consider additional data collections for future iterations of the CWDA to enable more research supporting better outcomes for children and young people.
