Across the 6 Australian states included in the study (excluding the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory) in 2018 or nearest year, 1 in 10 people were estimated to be living within 250 metres of an alcohol outlet. People living within 250 metres of an alcohol outlet in Capital city areas were more likely to have experienced alcohol-related risks and harms than people living further away. This report presents interactive maps of selected Australian states showing measures of access to alcohol outlets and demonstrates a method to estimate alcohol access, risk and harms across small geographic areas.
