Service use
A significant proportion of people who die by suicide have contact with the health system, including in their last year of life. These contacts points provide opportunities for suicide prevention activities. It is important to understand who uses health services and who does not, so that service providers and policy makers can focus not just on people who use services but also on people who do not access services.
