Other areas
During 2019–20 to 2022–23, other areas of spending besides primary health care, hospitals, referred medical services and aged care accounts for a further $2.6 billion of which:
- $1.5 billion for capital expenditure of which:
- Equipment (for example, new ventilators) $0.8 billion
- Facilities (minor capital expenditure) $0.3 billion
- Upgrades to ICT systems related to COVID–19 activity $0.2 billion
- Vaccination sites $0.1 billion
- $0.7 billion for patient transport costs
- $0.2 billion for health research
- $0.1 billion for health administration
- $0.02 billion for the education of health professionals
