immunisation: the process of receiving a vaccine and becoming immune to a disease as a result of being vaccinated.

notifiable disease: a disease that is required by law to be reported to government authorities. This information allows steps to be taken to protect the community from infectious diseases, improve health policies, plan future health services, and undertake health-related research. More than 60 diseases are notifiable in Australia, though the list varies across the states and territories. Examples of nationally notifiable diseases include malaria, hepatitis B, chlamydia, measles and salmonella.
