Findings from this report:
  • Counselling was the most common AOD treatment type, accounting for almost 2 in 5 (38%) closed treatment episodes

  • Where amphetamines were reported as the principal drug of concern, 79% of episodes were for methamphetamines only

  • Around 139,300 clients sought AOD treatment in 2020–21

  • 1,279 publicly funded alcohol and other drug treatment agencies provided treatment services to clients in 2020–21
