The data in the graph and the table below show the number of valid 52-week full outcome claims for employment in the corresponding 12-month period for people with disability (aged 15 and over). Data from 2019–20 to 2022–23 are used. In 2022–23, 31,281 claims were made, compared with 19,538 in 2019–20.

In 2022–23, there were 9,430 claims made in New South Wales, compared with 98 claims in the Northern Territory.

In 2022–23, 1,893 claims were made for Indigenous Australians and 28,103 claims were made for non-Indigenous Australians.

In 2022–23, 4,574 claims were made for people with disability from CALD backgrounds and 26,707 for the non-CALD group.

In 2022–23, 12,746 claims were made for people with psychiatric primary disability, compared with 23 claims for those with deafblindness as their primary disability.
