The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 18 and over) whose home is suitable and accessible, grouped by Australian states and territories. In 2024, 86% of people in both the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory and 82% in both Victoria and Queensland said their home was suitable and accessible.

The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 18 and over) whose home is suitable and accessible, by Indigenous status. In 2024, 75% of First Nations people with disability and 83% of non-Indigenous people with disability had homes that were suitable and accessible (please note that the proportion for the First Nations group has a high margin of error and should be used with caution).
# Should be used with caution: proportion has a Margin of Error (MoE) >10 percentage points and/or proportion ± MoE equals <0% or >100%.

The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 18 and over) whose home is suitable and accessible, grouped by gender. In 2024, 86% of men with disability had homes that were suitable and accessible, as did 81% of women with disability (please note that the proportion for people with disability with gender identity 'Non-binary/Other' has a high margin of error and should be used with caution).

In 2024, 78% of people with disability from CALD backgrounds lived in homes that were suitable and accessible, compared with 84% of the non-CALD group.

In 2024, 84% of straight (heterosexual) people with disability lived in homes that were suitable and accessible, compared with 78% of people with disability whose sexual orientation was gay, lesbian, bisexual, or other.
