The chart shows the latest data for the lowest rates of smoking for four Local Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3s) and the highest rates of smoking for three SA3s. There is also an interactive map of Australia enabling access to information for the 340 SA3s. Indicators can be selected using a drop down menu. The first indicator graphic shows the proportion of all women who gave birth who smoked in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy using a three-year aggregate, 2018-2020. Overall for Australia, 8.8% of all women who gave birth smoked in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy in 2018-2020. The percentage of women who gave birth who smoked in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy in 2018-2020 across SA3s varied between 0.6% and 49%.
