Measure: Proportion of Vocational Education and Training (VET) graduates with disability who are employed on completion of training

This measure is part of the Transition to employment priority of the Strategy. This priority is about supporting young people with disability who leave school to find work.

The desired outcome is that more people with disability who finish VET find a job.

Has the proportion of VET graduates employed on completion of training increased over time?

The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of VET graduates (aged 15 and over) with disability who are employed on completion of training. Data from 2016 to 2023 are used. In 2023, 62% of VET graduates with disability were employed on completion of training, compared with 56% in 2016.

Does the proportion of VET graduates employed on completion of training vary by state?

The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of VET graduates (aged 15 and over) with disability who are employed on completion of training, grouped by Australian states and territories. In 2023, 74% of VET graduates with disability in the Australian Capital Territory were employed on completion of training, as were 60% in Victoria.

    The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of VET graduates (aged 15 and over) with disability who are employed on completion of training, by Indigenous status. In 2023, 62% of First Nations graduates with disability were employed on completion of VET training, as were 63% of non-Indigenous graduates.
