What is being tracked?

Measure: Proportion of participants aged 15–64 who responded "yes" to "Has the NDIS helped you have more choice and control over your life?" after two years in the scheme

This measure is part of the People with complex, high needs are supported priority of the Strategy. This priority is about providing services that support those people with disability who have complex high needs.

The desired outcome is that more long-term National Disability Insurance Scheme participants feel they have choice and control over their life.

Has the proportion of NDIS participants aged 15–64 who responded "yes" to "Has the NDIS helped you have more choice and control over your life?" after two years in the scheme changed over time?

The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of participants aged 15–64 who responded “yes” to “Has the NDIS helped you have more choice and control over your life?” after two years in the scheme. Data from 2018–19 Q1 to 2023–24 Q2 are used. In 2023–24 Q2, 77% of NDIS participants believed the NDIS had helped them have more choice and control (after two years in the scheme), compared with 72% in 2018–19 Q1.

In 2023–24 Q2, in Queensland, 81% of NDIS participants believed the NDIS had helped them have more choice and control (after two years in the scheme), compared with 69% in the Northern Territory.
